Steam trains officially stopped running on
the mainline on 11th August 1968, but here at the Caledonian Railway you
can enjoy the delights of steam every summer Sunday.
Take a leisurely ride to Bridge of Dun on one of our steam hauled
trains.
The Angus countryside is magnificent at this time of year, so you may
like to include a trip to the National Trust property at House of Dun
during your visit. This is a mere twenty minute walk from our station,
and you can jump on a later train to return to Brechin.
Basin Rambler Free Bus Service: timetable , linking the Railway at Bridge of Dun Station with House of Dun, Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre, Montrose High Street and Montrose Mainline Railway Station. This service only operates on Sunday 29 July, 5 & 12 August.
Information for Disabled Passengers
All train services on the above dates have a wheelchair/disabled saloon with ramped access or assistance to seating.
BRECHIN STATION: Access to the station via Park Road car park using the gate to the platform. Male and Female disabled toilets located an platform 2.
BRIDGE OF DUN STATION: Access to the main platform and an unisex disabled toilet located in the station building.
