How do i find you?

You’ll find us at Caledonian Railway, The Station, Park Road, Brechin, Angus, DD9 7AF.

Just pop the postcode into your sat nav and it’ll bring you straight to us. There’s also a handy map above if you’d rather take a look before you travel.

Brechin is just off the A90 between Dundee and Aberdeen, so nice and easy to get to - you really can’t miss us!

Our Bridge of Dun Station can be found at Bridge of Dun Station, DD10 9LH

When are you open?

We are open on weekends during the summer & other selected dates throughout the year.

See our What's On page for dates.

What services are you operating?

We run train services suitable for all ages.

More information on specific events on our What's On page.

How do I buy a ticket?

You can buy tickets either in advance or on the day at our ticket office.

For our regular weekend train rides (running throughout the summer), you’re welcome to turn up and buy on the day. That said, we’d always recommend booking in advance during busy periods just to be safe, you can do that here. (insert link later).

For our special events, tickets are limited and often sell out quickly, so advance booking is strongly recommended.

To book ahead for these, simply head to our What’s On page and choose your preferred service.

Do you have parking?

Yes, we have off street car parks at both stations.

Disabled parking is in the smaller car park next to Brechin station.

NOTE: Please be aware that during some special events, the main car park may be closed to accommodate additional attractions.

I have booked the wrong train - can I change this?

Just get in touch and we’ll do our best to help sort it for you.

I have missed my train, what can I do?

If you have missed your allocated train departure time, please speak to ticket office staff.

I left something on one of your trains, how do I reclaim it?

Any found items left on our trains or in our stations will be available for collection for up to 3 months after being handed in, from our Brechin Station.

After this time, the items will be destroyed.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome on most daytime services.

We unfortunately cannot allow dogs onto any services that involve food or drink (e.g. Murder Mystery, Gin Tasting etc.).

Dogs may be allowed to travel at certain special events - please contact us for details.

Dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. On our trains, dogs must not sit on seats/tables and must be kept on the floor. Any mess created must be cleaned up by the owner.

How do I get involved and become a volunteer?

Please visit our Volunteer page for more information.

Can I access the sheds, workshops or tracks?

For safety reasons, public access to our sheds, workshops and railway tracks (including the lineside) isn’t permitted.

We know it can be tempting, especially if there’s a particular locomotive you’d love a closer look at, but all visitors must stay within designated public areas such as the platforms.

If you’re ever unsure, just ask a member of the team who’ll be happy to help. Anyone entering restricted areas may be asked to leave.

Is there disabled access?

Yes, our trains and stations are all wheelchair accessible.

At Brechin station, disabled access is via the large yellow gates onto Platform 1.

At Bridge of Dun, disabled access is via the platform ramp into the car park.

All of our trains have disabled access saloons which are accessible via a ramp carried onboard the train. Please speak to the train guard to use this facility.

Can I visit the railway outwith opening times?

Unless this has been arranged prior to your visit, we cannot allow visitor access to the railway outwith the advertised opening times. Limited access onto the platform outwith opening hours at Brechin station is available to customers of The Whistle Stop Cafe only.

What facilities do you have?

The Whistle Stop Cafe at Brechin Station serves a selection of locally sourced food, drinks and home baking. Please see their Facebook page for opening times and more information.

The BufferStop Buffet at Bridge of Dun serves a selection of snacks and hot & cold drinks.

We also have a gift shop at Brechin station. Please note that these services are only available when we have scheduled train services. Find out when the railway is next open by visiting our What's On page.

There are toilets available at both stations. Please be aware that there are no toilets on the train.

Please note that due to limited staff availabilities, the buffet outlet at Bridge of Dun & Brechin Gift Shop may be closed or operating on reduced opening times during your visit. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I have some railway related items that I would like to donate, how do I do this?

We welcome donations to the railway. If you would like to make a donation, please contact us to arrange this.

NOTE: Please be aware that we are unable to accept old magazines, video tapes and DVD's, unless they are specifically related to the railway and its history.

We hope we’ve answered all your questions, but if there’s anything else you’d like to know, just get in touch, we’re always happy to help.

You can also find more updates and information over on our Facebook page.

We look forward to welcoming you to the railway and hope you have a lovely visit!
